Highlander cruise control malfunction

Hi, I've got a 2005 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with about 101k km on it, and the cruise control has suddenly stopped working. An error message pops up in the speedometer when I try to engage it. The error is also stored in the error memory. I've checked the fuse box, but all fuses seem fine. Any ideas what else could be causing this?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Highlander. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the component? It might be defective.

Thanks for the quick reply! Which component are you referring to specifically? The cruise control actuator itself?

Yeah, that's the one. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, since I couldn't figure it out myself. They found a loose connection. I'd recommend doing the same.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective plug connection as you suspected! Cost me 95€ to repair. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
