Highlander Hybrid check engine light air valve hose
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid's check engine light was consistently activating, suspected to be due to an air valve issue, possibly from a defective hose connection. The absence of additional symptoms suggested a specific focus on the hose connections from the pump to the valve. After consulting a technician, a cracked hose was identified and replaced, resolving the issue.

No other symptoms really, just the light. Any specific hoses I should be checking first, or is it best to just replace them all?

Given the absence of other symptoms, inspect the hose connections from the pump to the valve, as you suspected. Without diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the exact defect can be challenging. Consulting a qualified technician may be beneficial.

Thanks, took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out it was indeed a cracked hose to the air valve. Replaced it for 175€. All good now.

The check engine light suggests a potential issue with the air supply system. Any other symptoms, like unusual noises or changes in engine performance? Vacuum hoses or the air intake system may be involved.
