Highlander Hybrid Engine Start Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with 93959 km suddenly won't start despite having adequate fuel and a seemingly charged battery. Initial suspicions included potential fuel injection or ECU issues. However, the problem was traced to faulty battery cable connections, which were causing poor electrical contact. A professional diagnosis confirmed this, leading to a repair costing 155€.

Thanks! I visually inspected the battery terminals, and they looked okay. But I didn't test for voltage drop or corrosion underneath. What symptoms did you have? What diagnostic steps did you take before finding the bad connections? Did your engine stall, surge, or have a check engine light before it died?

I had no signs before it just wouldn't start. I also checked the connections, or so I thought. The mechanic found the faulty connections after voltage drop tests. Given your description, I'd suggest a professional check instead of DIY troubleshooting.

I also own a Highlander Hybrid. I had a similar issue where the engine wouldn't crank, and all the warning lights came on. Did you check the battery cable connections? Mine were bad.
