Highlander Start Stop Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Toyota Highlander is experiencing issues with its start-stop system, where the engine shuts off but fails to automatically restart, accompanied by a warning light. The problem may be linked to a heavily discharged battery. A suggested solution is to visit a workshop to have the battery checked and potentially replaced.

Yes, that's exactly what's happening. It shuts off as it should, but then won't automatically restart. Is that what you experienced?

That is correct. The vehicle needs to be manually restarted each time, correct? In my case the battery was heavily discharged, and I had to visit a workshop to get it checked and changed.

Thanks for the confirmation. Looks like I'll be heading to a workshop to get the battery checked out. The eventual repair cost was 290€. I appreciate the help!

Hello! I had a similar issue with my Highlander. Does the engine shut off and then fail to automatically restart?
