Highlander Sunroof Sunblind Stuck
Summary of the thread
The sunroof sunblind on a 2002 Toyota Highlander is stuck and won't operate after some coding work. This issue is likely due to a 'not initialized' error in the sunroof system, commonly triggered by coding changes. A professional recalibration using specialized diagnostic equipment is recommended to resolve the problem.

A reset? I haven't! Is that something I can do myself, or am I going to mess things up even more?

While a DIY reset might be tempting, given the potential for further complications and the 'not initialized' error likely stemming from coding changes, I would advise against it. Based on the symptoms and the coding event you mentioned, the sunroof system may require a professional recalibration using specialized diagnostic equipment. I would suggest taking the vehicle to a trusted workshop.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Took it to a shop, and they recalibrated the sunroof. Cost me 75€, but at least it's working again!

It sounds like your sunroof system is experiencing a classic 'not initialized' error, often triggered by coding activities. The symptoms you're describing – sunblind malfunction, inability to open/close the convertible top, and retraction/extension failure – are all consistent with this diagnosis. Have you attempted a sunroof reset or recalibration procedure?
