Highlander weak heating output

Hey, I've got a 2002 Toyota Highlander with a gasoline engine and only 66335 km on it. The heating output is ridiculously low, and I pulled an error code. Pretty sure it's the water valve. I've checked the connections, and they look ok. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2002 Toyota Highlander is experiencing weak heating output, and an error code suggests a potential issue with the water valve. The connections have been checked and appear fine. A similar case involved a defective cable connection, which was resolved at a workshop. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected professionally, with a focus on the cable connection, for a potential straightforward and cost-effective solution.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Highlander too (don't know the exact year), and I had a similar problem with weak heating. It could be a defective cable or plug connection, which might cause those issues.

Interesting. Was your error code pointing directly to the water valve too? Or was it something more vague?

The error pointed in the direction of the valve, however, I suggest you have the car checked in the workshop. In my case, they figured out a defective cable connection and charged 95€ for the repair.

Thanks for the info. I'll take it to the shop and mention the cable connection. Hopefully, it's a cheap fix like yours was!
