Hilux Boost Pressure Fault

I'm experiencing a boost pressure control fault on my 2005 Toyota Hilux diesel. Mileage is at 115742 km. The check engine light is on, and I'm noticing reduced engine power, poor engine response, and higher fuel consumption. I suspect a defect in the vacuum switching valve. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had similar symptoms with my Hilux, though I can't speak to the year model. Have you checked for any pressure drops or vacuum leaks?

Thanks for the input. I've visually inspected the vacuum lines, but haven't performed a thorough test. Could a faulty bypass valve also cause these issues?

It's possible. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty boost solenoid. If you're not sure, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. The vacuum switching valve needed replacement. Repair cost me 140€ Appreciate the help!
