Thanks for the input. I've visually inspected the vacuum lines, but haven't performed a thorough test. Could a faulty bypass valve also cause these issues?

It's possible. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty boost solenoid. If you're not sure, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. The vacuum switching valve needed replacement. Repair cost me 140€ Appreciate the help!

I had similar symptoms with my Hilux, though I can't speak to the year model. Have you checked for any pressure drops or vacuum leaks?
