Hilux electrical malfunctions
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Toyota Hilux diesel with 62,000 km is experiencing general electrical malfunctions, including a non-functional navigation system. Diagnostics indicate an implausible control unit programming, suggesting potential ECU issues. A similar case was resolved through recalibration or a software refresh at a workshop, which is recommended as a solution.

Thanks. Besides the navigation, no flickering lights or radio issues. Could you elaborate on your issue and how you fixed it, especially the control module?

Yeah, mine was a bit of a mess, honestly. It sounds like yours isn't quite as bad, thankfully. But still, with the error code and the electrical gremlins, it’s probably best to take it to a workshop. They'll likely need a recalibration or a software refresh. That's what fixed mine.

Thanks for the advice. Based on your experience, I'll book a qualified workshop for a control module recalibration or software refresh. Repair is around 240€.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Hilux. Was it throwing up any other weird symptoms, like the lights flickering or the radio cutting out?
