Hilux engine stalling check engine light

Experiencing a problem with my 2011 Toyota Hilux diesel (67450 km). The check engine light is on and the engine occasionally stalls. I suspect a fault within the tank ventilation system, possibly a clogged hose. I've checked the gas cap. Any ideas?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Hilux a while back. Check engine light and stalling, it was a nightmare! I think it had something to do with the fuel tank ventilation. Have you checked the hoses connected to the ventilation valve? They can get clogged.

When you say 'ventilation valve', are you referring to the valve within the fuel tank's emission system? Do you remember any specific hose locations that are prone to blockage?

Yes, that's the one! I can't remember exactly which hoses were the problem, it was quite some time ago. If you aren't a professional, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Understood, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the tank ventilation valve was malfunctioning due to clogged hoses. The repair cost 175€. Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction.
