Hilux Fault Code U0151

Alright Hilux gurus, I've got a head-scratcher! My 2022 Toyota Hilux, diesel engine, is throwing a fault code party. 69043 km on the clock. I'm getting 'Error stored in the error memory' popping up, along with warning lights on the infotainment system AND the speedometer. I hooked up my diagnostic scanner and it's pointing towards an issue with the vehicle's coding being incorrect. Anyone seen this before? It's driving me nuts!

I understand you are experiencing some issues with your Hilux. Could you please provide the exact fault code you retrieved using your scan tool? Also, have you recently had any work done on the vehicle's electrical system or control modules?

Hey there! The fault code is U0151 - Lost Communication with Restraints Control Module. I haven't had any electrical work done recently. Is this something I could fix myself with the scan tool, or am I looking at a workshop job?

Thank you for the additional information. Given the fault code and the fact that the coding of the vehicle is likely incorrect, it would be prudent to seek assistance from a qualified workshop. It is possible that specialized equipment is needed to recode the control module. I recommend you have it looked at.

Cheers, appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop; turns out the control module needed a proper re-flash. Coding was indeed messed up. Cost me 360€, but at least the error messages are gone. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
