Hilux Poor Start Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota Hilux with 117,903 km was experiencing poor starting and increased fuel consumption. The initial suspicion was a defective throttle valve, with a possibility of the accelerator pedal module being the cause. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that both the throttle valve and the accelerator pedal module were defective. Repairs resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Interesting. What was the eventual diagnosis for your Megane? Was it related to the throttle position at all?

Never actually got to the bottom of it myself, unfortunately. Ended up trading it in. But based on your symptoms, and the fact that you suspect the throttle valve, it might be worth getting it checked by a workshop.

Thanks for the input. Took it to a shop, and you were right, the throttle valve was indeed the issue. Turns out the accelerator pedal module was defective. Repair cost me 205€. Runs like a charm now!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms: poor starts and the fuel consumption went through the roof. I suspected the air intake, but never figured it out.
