Honda Accord Engine Problems

Alright, my 2010 Honda Accord with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. Check engine light's on, runs rough, smells like I'm huffing exhaust fumes, and I think I hear a leak. Anyone else had this nightmare?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Honda Accord is experiencing engine problems, including a check engine light, rough running, exhaust smell, and a suspected leak. These symptoms suggest potential issues with the catalytic converter or lambda sensor. The problem was resolved by replacing the lambda sensor, which fixed the engine issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my 2014 Opel Astra. The check engine light and the smell were the same. Was there any loss of power too?

Yeah, feels like it's lost some pep. You think it's the catalytic converter? I'm dreading the cost...

It could be. In my case, it was the lambda sensor before the catalytic converter that was defective. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop before you start replacing parts.

Cheers! Took it to the shop. Turns out you nailed it - lambda sensor! Cost me 375€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks!
