Honda Accord Oil Pressure Light
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Honda Accord owner experienced a flickering oil pressure light and suspected a faulty engine oil temperature sensor, possibly due to a bad cable or plug. After checking the wiring harness and consulting with others, it was suggested to visit a workshop for a more accurate diagnosis. The issue was confirmed to be a defective cable, which was repaired by a mechanic.

I checked the wiring harness, but didn't see anything obvious. What happened with your BMW, and how did you figure it out?

Sure, on my BMW the issue was intermittent at first, then got worse. Replacing the sensor fixed it. But, honestly, with electrical stuff it's hard to be 100% sure. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they have better diagnostic tools.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion, and for the suggestion. I took it to my local trusted mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective cable, as I thought. The repair cost 95€ for parts and labor. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series. A faulty sensor can cause all sorts of weird readings. Did you check the wiring harness for any damage or corrosion?
