Honda BR-V Engine Jerking

My 2022 Honda BR-V with a gasoline engine has 241,007 km on it and is running unevenly. The check engine light is on, and I feel a jerking when accelerating. I scanned it and there's an error stored. Could it be the spark plugs or maybe the air filter?

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, but it was the diesel version. Check engine light, jerking, the whole shebang. Turned out to be a leak in the exhaust system. Made the engine run like it was trying to juggle chainsaws. Have you looked at the exhaust?

An exhaust leak, huh? I hadn't considered that. Where exactly on the exhaust should I be looking? And would that cause the stored error code?

Well, in my case, it was a cracked manifold. The sensor readings were all over the place because of the leak, which triggered the light and code. Best bet is to take it to a workshop, they'll smoke test it and find the leak in no time. Much easier than crawling around under the car yourself. If you keep driving like that, you will damage the timing belt or even the fuel injectors. A friend of mine had the same issue and didn't get it checked for a long time, and the repair costs were really high.
