Honda Brio Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda Brio with a gasoline engine experienced reduced engine power, and diagnostics revealed an error in the engine control unit (ECU). The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective main relay, which was confirmed upon further investigation. The solution involved replacing the faulty relay, which resolved the power issue after a workshop diagnosis.

I haven't checked the relay's function directly; I only noted it as the likely cause based on some research. Is there a straightforward way to test the main relay without specialized equipment?

Testing relays can be tricky without the right gear. Considering the ECU's involved, and you're getting performance issues, it might be risky to poke around too much. Could cause more problems than you fix. Honestly, with those symptoms, I’d get it to a workshop to be sure.

As suspected, the main relay was indeed defective, impacting the ECU. Repair cost was 120€. Appreciate the confirmation that a workshop diagnosis was the prudent path.

Reduced power and an ECU error, huh? I'm no expert, but a dodgy relay messing with the engine control does sound plausible. Have you checked the relay itself? Is it clicking properly or does it seem dead?
