Honda City Automatic Temperature Control Issue
Summary of the thread

Nope, no recent work at all. It just went haywire out of the blue. Did your car have the same symptoms? How did you end up fixing it? Was it a full replacement or just a loose connection or something?

Yep, pretty much identical symptoms. Sounds like it's probably the same culprit. I took it to the local workshop, and they confirmed it was the interior temperature sensor acting up, due to a defective cable. It cost me 95€. I'd recommend taking it to a professional to be sure, but it sounds very familiar.

You are an absolute legend! Thanks for the advice! You saved me hours of pointless fiddling around. I'll get it booked in ASAP and report back. Hopefully, it's just the sensor. Seriously appreciate the help!

I have a Honda City too, and I had something similar happen last year. It felt like the car's brain was totally ignoring the thermostat. Did you have any work done recently that might have involved messing with the dashboard or anything near the climate control system?
