Honda City engine stalls at idle

I own a 2021 Honda City, hybrid engine, with 220625 km. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls at idle with reduced power. I suspect a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. Could a defective pressure sensor be the cause?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Honda City with a hybrid engine experienced stalling at idle and reduced power, accompanied by a check engine light. The suspected cause was a faulty rail pressure sensor. After confirming the issue with a workshop, replacing the defective sensor resolved the stalling and performance problems.

A defective rail pressure sensor can certainly cause those symptoms. It's like a clogged artery in your fuel injection system, starving the engine. Have you checked the sensor's wiring harness for any damage or corrosion?

I have not checked the wiring harness yet. Where exactly is the rail pressure sensor located, and is it difficult to access on this engine?

Its location can vary, but it’s usually on the fuel rail. If you're not comfortable locating it or testing the wiring, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Incorrect diagnosis could lead to unnecessary repairs.

Thank you for the insight. The workshop confirmed a defective rail pressure sensor. Repair cost was 240€. Replacing the sensor resolved the engine stalling and performance issues.
