I have not checked the wiring harness yet. Where exactly is the rail pressure sensor located, and is it difficult to access on this engine?

Its location can vary, but it’s usually on the fuel rail. If you're not comfortable locating it or testing the wiring, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Incorrect diagnosis could lead to unnecessary repairs.

Thank you for the insight. The workshop confirmed a defective rail pressure sensor. Repair cost was 240€. Replacing the sensor resolved the engine stalling and performance issues.

A defective rail pressure sensor can certainly cause those symptoms. It's like a clogged artery in your fuel injection system, starving the engine. Have you checked the sensor's wiring harness for any damage or corrosion?
