Honda Grace rough running and exhaust smell
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Grace with a gasoline engine experienced rough running, a check engine light, and a strong exhaust smell. The potential causes considered were issues with the NOx sensors, EGR valve, or particulate filter. After professional diagnosis, the problem was identified as a defective lambda sensor. Replacing the sensor resolved the rough running and eliminated the exhaust smell.

Thanks. I haven't checked the codes yet. Did you have a strong exhaust smell, and how did you resolve it?

The smell was there, stronger than usual. I took it to a workshop. They said it was the lambda sensor and replaced it. If you're getting a strong smell and rough running, get it checked professionally to be safe.

Thanks for sharing. I took my car to a mechanic. They diagnosed a defective lambda sensor, which was the problem. The repair was 375€. The engine now runs smoothly, and the exhaust smell is gone.

I had a similar issue with my Grace, but no leak. The engine light came on, and it struggled on hills. Did you check for codes? It could be a faulty lambda sensor. Seems common.
