Honda Jade knocking combustion issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Jade is experiencing a knocking combustion issue, characterized by reduced engine power, jerking during acceleration, and smoke emissions. The problem might be related to deposits in the combustion chamber, as suggested by the symptoms and a generic engine error code. Potential solutions include using higher octane fuel, checking the knock sensor, and professional cleaning of the cylinder heads, with adjustments to the ignition timing recommended by a workshop.

No specific codes that I could see. Just a generic engine error. I haven't tried a higher fuel octane yet, figured it wouldn't make that much of a difference. The knock sensor is a good shout, though - how would I check that?

Okay, a generic engine error sounds even more familiar now. Honestly, I'm no expert, and fiddling with the knock sensor could mess things up worse. What fixed it for me was taking it to a workshop. They mentioned something about the cylinder heads needing cleaning and maybe some adjustments to the ignition timing. I'd get it checked out professionally if I were you.

Yeah, you're probably right. Sounds like it's beyond my limited skills. I'll book it into the workshop and see what they say. Thanks for the help. Turns out the issue was deposits in the combustion chamber, and the repair cost me 425€.

Huh, knocking combustion... I have a Jade too. Sounds a bit like what happened with mine a while back. Was it throwing any specific codes? Have you tried different fuel octanes, or checked the knock sensor?
