Honda Legend engine power loss vacuum leak
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Honda Legend owner experienced engine power loss, poor response, and increased fuel consumption, suspecting a faulty manifold pressure sensor due to a vacuum leak. Another person suggested checking the intake manifold for leaks, as a crack in a hose or gasket could affect sensor readings and cause rough idling. The owner had a workshop perform a smoke test, confirming a vacuum leak, leading to the replacement of the sensor and resolving the issue.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about idling, but it has gotten a little rougher. Could you tell me what parts of the intake manifold I should check? I don't know the layout very well.

It’s tough to say without seeing it. With the rough idle, it sounds like a vacuum leak affecting the sensor. A workshop can smoke test it to find the leak.

Thanks for the advice. I had it checked at a workshop and they did a smoke test. It was a vacuum leak, the sensor was replaced, and the repair was 235€. Thanks again for the insights; they were a great help.

I had something similar with my Legend. Check the intake manifold area for leaks. A crack in a hose or a gasket could throw off the sensor readings. Is it idling rough too?
