Honda Life multifunction steering wheel failure
Summary of the thread
The multifunction steering wheel of a 2003 Honda Life stopped working, with none of the buttons responding and an error stored in the memory. A possible cause identified was a defective cable connection inside the steering wheel. It was suggested to have a professional workshop diagnose and fix the issue due to the delicate nature of the control module connections. The problem was resolved by repairing the cable connection.

Cable connection? Is that difficult to check? I'm not very mechanically inclined.

Yeah, that was also my first thought after the malfunction indicator appeared. I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself if you're not comfortable. The control module connections are delicate. It's better to take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and ensure everything is reconnected safely.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were right – defective cable connection. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

Steering wheel issues are the worst! I had something similar happen in my Life. Have you checked the cable connection inside the steering wheel? That was the culprit for me.
