Honda Life Stalling

My 2006 Honda Life with a gasoline engine has a check engine light that keeps coming on. Mileage is at 166147 km. It seems to be stalling at idle sometimes. I suspect it might be the tank ventilation valve.

Summary of the thread

A 2006 Honda Life with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle and a persistent check engine light. The suspected cause is a faulty tank ventilation valve, part of the EVAP system. The issue was resolved by inspecting and replacing clogged hoses and the purge valve, leading to smooth operation again.

I had a similar issue with my Honda Life. The EVAP system can be quite sensitive. Have you checked the hoses connected to the purge valve? Clogged hoses are a common cause.

Hoses? Where exactly should I be looking, and what am I looking for?

Focus on the hoses running to and from the purge valve, part of the emission system. Cracks or clogs will trigger the light and stalling. If you aren't familiar with the fuel tank and emission system, I suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! You were spot on. Took it to a shop, they found clogged hoses and replaced them and the valve. Cost me 175€, but it's running smoothly again.
