Honda Pilot AC failure
Summary of the thread
The 2008 Honda Pilot's air conditioning system suddenly stopped working, blowing hot air instead of cold. The issue was initially suspected to be a fuse problem, but further investigation suggested it could be related to undervoltage or a refrigerant leak. After taking the vehicle to a shop, the problem was identified as a faulty relay, which was replaced, resolving the A/C failure.

Relay switch, huh? Where would I even find that? And how would I know if the refrigerant is low? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff. Is that something I can check myself, or am I looking at a trip to the shop?

The relay location should be in your owner's manual, usually a diagram in the fuse box section. As for the refrigerant, you'd need a manifold gauge set to properly check the pressure. Seeing as you're unfamiliar with A/C systems, and it's showing an error code, it's best to take it to a shop. Could be a simple fix, but diagnosing A/C issues can be tricky without the right tools and knowledge.

Okay, I figured as much. Thanks for the advice, though! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on about the undervoltage thing. Turns out it was a bad relay. They replaced it, and the A/C is blowing cold again. Cost me 240€, but at least it's fixed!

Could be a few things. Since there's an error code, it's probably not just a fuse. Undervoltage can cause the A/C compressor to shut off. Have you checked the relay switch for the A/C system? Also, when was the last time you had the refrigerant checked? A refrigerant leak could cause the pressure switch to disable the compressor to prevent damage.
