Honda Pilot turbo issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Honda Pilot owner experienced issues with the vehicle's performance, including a check engine light, reduced power, unusual noises, and high fuel consumption. The suspected cause was a problem with the turbocharger. A suggestion was made to check the electrical bypass valve, part of the turbo system, which was confirmed by a professional to be faulty. After replacing the valve, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Electrical bypass valve? Where is that located, and how would I check it? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm willing to get my hands dirty if it's something simple.

It's part of the turbo system. If the valve is defective, it can cause the symptoms you describe. You can try to check it, but I ended up just taking mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the actuator. Probably best to get it checked by a professional.

Thanks! Took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out you were spot on – faulty electrical bypass valve. Repair cost me 250€. Runs like new now, so cheers for the help!

Sounds like a boost pressure actuator fault. I had similar symptoms with my Pilot: check engine light, reduced power, and weird noises. Have you checked the electrical bypass valve?
