Honda XRV exhaust fumes and rough engine
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Honda XRV owner reported issues with the check engine light, rough engine performance, and noticeable exhaust fumes, suggesting a possible leak. Another individual with a similar experience suggested that a faulty lambda sensor might be the cause. After consulting a mechanic, the owner confirmed that the lambda sensor was indeed the issue, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Yeah, the smell is pretty strong. Where exactly was the lambda sensor located that caused the issue?

I'm not entirely sure of the exact location, to be honest. I just took it to a workshop, and they identified the lambda sensor as the culprit. Probably best to get yours checked out too, could be a similar issue.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my mechanic, and you were right – it was the lambda sensor. Cost me 375€ to get it fixed, but at least it's running smoothly again.

Hi there! I had something similar happen with my XRV. Is the exhaust smell really strong? Mine ended up being a faulty lambda sensor. Worth checking out.
