Hot-running Citroen Ccrosser: experience and suggested solutions wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A Citroen Ccrosser owner is experiencing overheating issues and low coolant levels, suspecting a radiator shutter problem. A similar issue was resolved for another Citroen owner by replacing a defective and corroded wiring harness to the sensor, which corrected incorrect temperature readings and stabilized coolant levels. The suggested solution is to visit a trustworthy garage for a similar inspection and repair, which previously cost €155 and resolved the issue without further problems.

Moin Moin, thanks for your quick reply. Sounds like my problem indeed! I guess I'll take your advice and visit another garage. Do you happen to remember how much the whole thing cost you? And did any other problems occur after the repair? Thanks again for your help! Greetings!

Hey, you're welcome! It cost me €155 to do it. Of course, it wasn't exactly a bargain, but since then the car has been running like clockwork again! And you said it, after the repair the radiator blind stopped being so bitchy - the functional restriction was fixed - and bang, issue solved. Since then, no further problems have arisen with the car. If it's similar for you, I think it's a reasonable price to pay to finally get rid of this annoying problem! Greetings and good luck!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Citroen Berlingo. In my case, it was actually the wiring harness to the sensor that was defective and corroded, and because it wasn't working properly, my car displayed incorrect temperatures and kept the coolant level constantly low. At the garage, they replaced the faulty wiring harness, cleaned everything and removed corroded parts. It wasn't a "small job" as it took a bit of time, but it was definitely manageable and got my car back in good shape. So my recommendation is that you go to a trustworthy garage and address the problem. It could well be something similar to what I had. Good luck with it! Regards.
