HRV Transfer Case Limp Mode
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda HRV is experiencing issues with the transfer case being stuck in limp mode, causing the gearbox to slip and shift poorly. This problem may be linked to faults in the ABS system, which could trigger a powertrain malfunction. A suggested solution is to perform a diagnostic scan to check for trouble codes related to the ABS or transfer case, as these could indicate the root cause of the issue. Seeking assistance from a qualified technician for a thorough diagnostic is recommended.

Thanks, that's helpful. I haven't checked the diagnostic trouble codes yet. I'll try to do that. When you say 'control module', are you talking about the ABS control module specifically, or a different one related to the transfer case?

In my case, the diagnostic trouble codes pointed to faults within the ABS system, which then cascaded and impacted the transfer case control module. The root cause, and subsequent error codes, stemmed from the ABS. I'd recommend getting a thorough diagnostic scan performed by a qualified technician.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my HRV. The symptoms sound very familiar. I found it was the control module causing the transfer case to act up. Have you checked for any diagnostic trouble codes related to the ABS or the transfer case itself? That would be my first step.
