Hyundai H1 Fuel Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Hyundai H1 was experiencing starting difficulties, stalling, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light, suggesting a fuel issue. Initial suspicion fell on the fuel pump, but further investigation revealed a defective cable or plug connection as the root cause. Replacing the faulty cable resolved the issues, restoring smooth operation.

Good point about the connections. I haven't checked them thoroughly. Could a faulty cable or plug really cause all of those symptoms, including the check engine light and the rough running?

In my case, the error was indeed caused by a defective cable or plug connection, which in turn caused the fuel pump to behave erratically. However, given the symptoms you've described, and considering that troubleshooting these systems can be complex, I would recommend visiting a workshop for accurate diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the cable and plug connections, and there was in fact a defective cable. I replaced it for 95€ and now it's running smoothly. I appreciate the insight.

Hmm, those symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had a similar issue with my H1. Did you check the gasoline delivery and fuel injector, or do you directly suspect the pump failure? What about the cable or plug connections?
