Hyundai i10 crankcase ventilation issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai i10 with 200,000 km is experiencing reduced engine power, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration, potentially due to a crankcase ventilation valve issue. Symptoms like rough idling and possible pressure or gunk buildup on the oil filler cap suggest the crankcase isn't venting properly. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a workshop to confirm and address the problem.

Rough idle sometimes, yes. What about the oil filler cap? What should I be looking for exactly?

If there's excessive pressure or gunk buildup on the cap, it's a strong indicator the crankcase isn't venting properly. Given the symptoms and mileage, a defective valve is highly probable. I would recommend getting it checked by a workshop.

Thanks, will do. I appreciate the tip. Estimate is around 360€, so at least I know what to expect.

Sounds familiar. Had similar symptoms on my old Volvo V70. The crankcase ventilation system can cause all sorts of issues when it fails. Is your engine idling rough too? How does the oil filler cap look?
