The error message was pretty specific, mentioning the engine control unit. I read somewhere that a faulty main relay can sometimes cause issues with the ECU. Did your problem also point to the ECU?

Yes, mine ended up being the ECU too. I tried a few things, but in the end, I had to take it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. If the error message is specific, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I think I'll take your advice and bring it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. Just got it back from the workshop. You were right! It was the main relay that was faulty, cost me 120€. Thanks again for your help!

I had something similar with my i10, although it was a while back. Reduced engine power definitely sounds familiar. Did the error message specifically mention the ECU, or just a generic engine fault?
