Hyundai i10 fuel injection issue

My 2008 Hyundai i10, petrol engine, has developed a nasty habit. Fuel consumption's gone up, power's noticeably down, and it occasionally stalls at idle. Plus, I'm getting smoke when accelerating hard. It's done 118786 km. I suspect the injection system. Anyone had similar issues? I've checked obvious air leaks and fuel lines, nothing glaring.

When the engine stalls at idle, and you also observe smoke, it points to an imbalance where there's either too much fuel or not enough air. Have you checked the electrical connections to the fuel injectors? Are they firmly attached, and is there any corrosion present?

Thanks for the quick reply. Electrical connections to the injectors... hadn't thought that specific. When you say 'electrical connections', are we talking about the plugs themselves, or further up the wiring loom?

By electrical connections, I am primarily referring to the plugs that connect directly to the fuel injectors. Like a kink in a garden hose restricting water flow, a faulty connection can disrupt the optimal fuel delivery. If these connections are compromised, it can lead to erratic engine behavior. Given the potential complexity, consulting a qualified workshop might be the most prudent course of action.

Appreciate the confirmation. Turned out to be a dodgy plug on one of the injectors, exactly as you suggested. New connector and a bit of contact cleaner sorted it. Cost me 95€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
