Key fob issues

Hey! It sounds like we're having similar gremlins with our Hyundais! Sounds like your local garage did a solid job fixing up your Accent. If you don't mind my asking, do you remember roughly what they hit you with on the bill for that cable fix? And any bumps in the road or other weirdness with your car or key fob since getting it sorted? Just trying to stay ahead of any new tricks this little bugger might throw my way. Cheers!
Hey there! Happy to report since the mechanic fixed the issue with the bumper antenna on my Hyundai Accent, I haven't faced any key fob glitches or weird car behavior. She's running pretty smooth now, just like the good old days! As for the cost, it was about 260.00 €. That included them diagnosing the defective cable connection to the bumper antenna and getting it all sorted. It may seem a bit much, but considering the amount of convenience it's brought back, definitely worth it. Just keep in mind though, each situation could differ, depending on where you go and your car's specific needs. But hey, hope everything turns out great for you and your i20 returns to its prime. Good luck!
Cheers for the info! 260.00 € does sound a bit pinchy on the wallet, but if it helps rein in this maverick key fob, I reckon it might just be worth it. Nice to know your Accent hasn't been throwing any more curveballs since the fix. Hopefully, my i20 behaves once it's sorted out too. Your mechanic sounds like a real pro, hope mine's just as savvy. Thanks for the advice, and keep us in the loop if anything else pops up with your Accent. Drive safe!
Hey there! I've got a 2011 Hyundai Accent and ran into something similar a while back. The issue turned out to be a defective cable connection to the bumper antenna, as you suspected. It wasn't a huge problem per se, but it could be a genuine pain if left unchecked. Noticed that my key fob started behaving erratically, the signal was dropping out and even locking and unlocking the car became a hit-and-miss thing. So, I popped into my local garage, and they identified the problem spot on. The cable connection had deteriorated over time and needed a replacement. They fixed it up pretty nicely, no dramas since then. Might be worth having your guy take a look at it, just to keep things running smooth. All the best!
