Hyundai i30 ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai i30 is experiencing an ABS system failure, with the ABS light on and a diagnostic scan revealing a lateral acceleration sensor fault. The issue is likely linked to a faulty control unit. A similar problem was resolved in another vehicle by replacing the control unit, suggesting that this might be the necessary solution for the Hyundai i30 as well.

The scan indicated a faulty lateral acceleration sensor and stored an error in the error memory. It’s pointing to the control unit needing replacement. Was that the same for your Astra?

Exactly the same, fault codes and all. I ended up having the control unit replaced at a workshop. Saved me a headache. Probably best to get it looked at.

Thanks for confirming. Seems like a trip to the shop is in order. Probably facing around 1000€ in repairs, but good to know what to expect.

Yep, similar thing happened to my old Opel Astra. The stability control went nuts, with similar symptoms. Did the diagnostic scan point to any specific error codes?
