Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai i40 is experiencing starting issues, a non-functional gear selection display, and dead cruise control. The suspected cause is a faulty clutch pedal switch or defective cable/plug connections. Another owner with a similar model confirmed that replacing the clutch pedal switch resolved their issues, suggesting this as a likely solution.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've checked the connections visually and with a multimeter, but I haven't removed the switch itself yet. What exactly was your issue?

In my case, the error was intermittent, but eventually the car wouldn't start at all. The workshop confirmed it was the clutch pedal switch. Replacing it solved all the problems.

Okay, thanks for confirming. I'll take it to the workshop and have them check the clutch switch thoroughly. Seems like that's the most likely culprit. Appreciate the help!

I have the same i40 model. It sounds like a clutch switch problem, yes. I had similar symptoms. Did you check the switch itself or just the connections?
