Hyundai ix20 electrical issues

I'm getting seriously frustrated. I've got a 2017 Hyundai ix20 diesel with about 60k km on the clock, and it's throwing up some weird errors. Sometimes the driving mode goes haywire, or error lights pop up for no reason. Then the audio and navigation will just die, or the whole thing acts like it needs a reboot while I'm driving! I scanned it and it has error codes stored. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Hyundai ix20 diesel with 60,000 km is experiencing erratic electrical issues, including malfunctioning driving modes, random error lights, and failures in audio and navigation systems. The problem is suspected to be related to BUS communication issues, where the car's computers fail to communicate properly, possibly due to poor connections to control modules. The suggested solution is to check and reseat these connections, which was confirmed by a mechanic to be the issue, resolved by fixing a faulty cable connection to the control unit.

Sounds like a BUS communication issue. Have you noticed if it's worse when the car is cold or damp? I had a similar gremlin with my old Mazda where the CAN bus was acting up. Might be worth checking the connections to your control modules. Sometimes just reseating them can help.

BUS communication, huh? Is that a common thing? And where exactly would I find these control module connections to check? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm happy to poke around if I know what I'm looking for.

Yeah, it happens. It's basically how all the different computers in your car talk to each other. As for where to find the modules and connections, that's tricky. Honestly, with it affecting so many systems, I'd take it to a trusted shop. Could save you a lot of headache chasing ghosts.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on! It was a dodgy cable connection to the control unit. Cost me 155€ to get it sorted. Much cheaper than I thought it would be! Cheers for the help.
