Hyundai ix20 running rich
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai ix20 is experiencing issues such as running rich, reduced power, check engine light, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a bad injector. Another suggestion was to consider a faulty oxygen sensor, which could cause similar symptoms by misleading the system into using more fuel. Ultimately, a diagnostic check confirmed a defective fuel injector, which was replaced to resolve the issue.

Thanks! Did your symptoms mirror mine precisely? Specifically, did you observe a reduction in engine power and jerking during acceleration, in addition to the check engine light and diminished fuel economy?

Yes, those were present too. It felt like driving with the parking brake slightly engaged. While it could still be the injectors, get a diagnostic check. It's difficult to give a definitive diagnosis remotely.

Thanks for the insights. I proceeded with a diagnostic assessment at a trusted workshop. The resolution was a defective fuel injector replacement, costing 515€. Your guidance helped expedite the diagnostic process.

I had something similar with my ix20. Check engine light, poor fuel economy, the whole nine yards. Before replacing injectors, which can be pricey, have you considered the oxygen sensor? A faulty one can trick the system into thinking it needs more fuel.
