Hyundai Mistra Fuel Flap Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai Mistra owner is experiencing a problem with the fuel flap release, which cannot be locked or unlocked, and some vehicle functions are temporarily unavailable. The issue is suspected to be a defective lock actuator, as there is no sound when attempting to trigger it. No, there's no sound at all from the actuator when I try to release the fuel flap. How did you resolve the issue with your Sonata, and was it difficult to access the actuator?

Given that there's no sound, it's highly likely the actuator. In my case, the actuator was completely dead. Accessing it wasn't too bad, but honestly, I just took it to a workshop. It's a fiddly job, and I didn't want to risk breaking anything else. I would suggest the same, as you will need to replace the faulty actuator anyway.

I appreciate the advice. I suspected as much. I've booked it into the workshop; the estimated repair cost is around 210€. They confirmed it's indeed the lock actuator and will replace it. Thanks again for confirming my suspicions!

I've got a Sonata, a similar model from Hyundai, and this sounds very familiar. I had a similar problem with my fuel door a while back. Couldn't open it via the button inside or the key fob. Did you check the lock actuator? That was my issue. Is there any sound coming from the actuator when you try to trigger it?
