Hyundai Santro engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Santro is experiencing engine power loss, sluggish response, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light intermittently on. The issue is suspected to be caused by a faulty manifold pressure sensor, potentially due to a vacuum leak around the intake manifold. The suggested solution involves checking for vacuum leaks and possibly replacing the sensor, with a professional workshop visit recommended for accurate diagnosis and repair.

I haven't checked for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. Can you guide me on how to identify such leaks? Any specific areas I should focus on?

Without proper equipment, it's tricky, but listen closely around the intake manifold and vacuum lines while the engine is running. Listen for a hissing sound. Inspect all rubber hoses connected to the manifold for cracks or damage. If the leak is big enough, that’s your culprit. Best is to leave it to the pros though. A smoke test should tell you for sure. My guess is the vacuum leak damaged the automotive sensor. Looks like a workshop visit.

Based on your advice, I took my Santro to the workshop. It was a faulty manifold pressure sensor due to a large vacuum leakage, as you suspected. The total repair cost was 235€. I appreciate your help!

Hey! Rough idling too? Sounds like a faulty manifold pressure sensor. Have you checked for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold? That can cause those symptoms.
