I Pace Complete Lock Failure, Key Fob Dead

Need advice, central locking system completely dead on 2022 I Pace. Remote key fob not responding and manual door locks stopped working too. Car has 53478km on the clock and error code stored in system. Last mechanic visit left me skeptical about their diagnosis. Has anyone dealt with similar keyless entry issues and can recommend what to check first? Would especially like to know if this needs dealer attention or if a regular shop can handle it.

Had the same central locking failure on a 2019 Jaguar E Pace EV last month. The security system completely shut down, with both the key fob and manual locking mechanism failing to engage. The root cause turned out to be more serious than initially suspected. The main control module for the car locks had corroded connection pins, which affected the entire locking system circuit. A regular shop diagnosed it but recommended dealer attention due to the complexity of the electronic security system programming. The repair required: Complete removal of the door control module, cleaning of all connection points, Replacement of damaged wiring harness, Reprogramming of the car alarm and central locking system This job typically needs specialized diagnostic equipment to properly reset the security protocols. While independent shops can diagnose the issue, dealer involvement is often necessary for final programming and system integration. Based on these symptoms, your I Pace likely has similar connection issues in the locking mechanism. The stored error code suggests an electrical fault rather than mechanical failure. Would strongly recommend having the dealer check the control module connections first.

Thanks for sharing that detailed experience. Just went through a very similar situation with my I Pace remote locking system this winter. After checking the fuse box and basic connections, I also discovered corroded pins were the culprit. Curious how much your repair ended up costing at the dealer? My central locking repair was quite an investment, and I wonder if prices vary much. Also, has your keyless entry been working flawlessly since the fix, or have you noticed any quirks?

Glad I could help earlier. My central locking repair turned out simpler and cheaper than expected, just 95€ to fix a faulty cable connection. The remote locking system has worked perfectly since the repair last month. The mechanic found the issue was actually a loose plug connection at the door control module, not the full corrosion damage they initially suspected. No reprogramming was needed after all. The keyless entry and security system are now functioning like new, with no quirks or issues. Much better outcome than the complete module replacement I thought I might need. The car lock mechanism responds instantly now, whether using the key fob or manual door locks. Goes to show these electronic issues can sometimes have straightforward fixes if diagnosed correctly.

Just got back from the mechanic and wanted to update you. The remote locking issue on my I Pace turned out to be more complex than initially thought. After checking the fuse box connections, they found extensive corrosion damage affecting multiple control modules. Total repair came to 780€ including: New door control module, Wiring harness replacement, System reprogramming, Labor costs The keyless entry works perfectly now. Door locks respond instantly, and the car alarm system is fully functional again. While the cost was higher than hoped, having a certified technician handle it was definitely the right call. The detailed diagnostic work revealed problems I would have missed trying cheaper fixes first. Lesson learned, when the entire central locking system fails, it usually points to a bigger electrical issue that needs proper attention. Thanks for steering me toward getting it properly diagnosed rather than attempting quick fixes.
