I Pace Massage Function Failed, Error Code Alert

My I Pace has developed an issue with the massage chair functionality. The massage setting cannot be activated at all and the system shows an error code. The car upholstery and seats otherwise appear normal, but the seat switch for the massage function seems unresponsive. Has anyone experienced similar problems with their luxury car massage features? Looking for tips on what exactly was wrong and how the workshop resolved it. The car is from 2018 and this problem started recently. Any help in narrowing down the potential causes would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue with my 2020 I Pace EV400. As someone with some experience working on electrical systems in cars, I initially thought it might be a simple switch failure, but it turned out to be more complex. The massage seat function stopped working completely, just like yours. After some basic troubleshooting of the automotive seats system, I took it to a certified workshop. They diagnosed a loose connection in the wiring harness that connects to the massage chair control module. The electrical issue was caused by normal seat movement over time, which had gradually worked the connector loose. The repair involved accessing the wiring beneath the seat, securing the connection properly, and running a diagnostic reset. Total cost was 95€ for the repair including labor. To help diagnose your specific case, could you share: The exact error code displayed, Whether other seat functions still work normally, If the issue started suddenly or developed gradually, If you hear any sounds when attempting to activate the massage function This information would help determine if your problem matches what I experienced with the connection issue or if it might be something different in the massage seat system.

Just had my latest service at 111743 KM km. The error code showing is F-3422. Yes, all other seat functions work perfectly fine, including heating and position adjustment. The massage seat issue started quite abruptly about a week ago. When trying to activate the massage feature through the seat switch, there is absolutely no response, no sounds, no movement, nothing at all. Thanks for the detailed explanation of your electrical issue fix. This gives me hope it might be something relatively straightforward like a loose connection rather than a complete switch failure in the luxury car system. Wondering if anyone else can confirm if this specific error code relates to the wiring harness problem or points to a different component in the massage seat controls?

Thanks for providing those additional details. Your symptoms sound nearly identical to what I experienced with my I Pace. The F-3422 error code is actually the exact same one I encountered, which typically indicates a communication issue between the massage seat control module and the main system. The fact that other seat functions work normally while the massage setting remains completely unresponsive strongly suggests a wiring or connector issue, rather than a complete seat motor failure. In my case, the switch failure symptoms were misleading, it looked like a faulty switch but was actually the wiring harness connection. A key similarity is the abrupt onset of the problem. When the connector works loose enough to break contact, it tends to happen suddenly rather than gradually degrading. The complete absence of sound or feedback when pressing the massage controls matches my experience precisely. Given these matching symptoms and the identical error code, I would bet you are dealing with the same loose connection issue I had. The repair should be relatively straightforward for a qualified technician who can access and resecure the massage seat wiring harness. One thing to note, after my repair, they recommended checking the seat connector tightness during regular services to prevent the issue from recurring. The electrical issue tends to develop due to the constant movement of power seats over time.

Based on this information, I will take the faulty wiring harness connection issue to my workshop next week. I really appreciate the detailed explanation and sharing your experience with the same F-3422 error code. The matching symptoms, especially the abrupt failure of the massage setting while other seat functions remain working, definitely point to a similar wiring problem rather than a complete seat motor replacement. Will ask them to specifically check the massage seat control module connections and wiring harness. Good to know this is likely a straightforward fix rather than a major automotive seats system failure. The fact that my car shows identical behavior with no sounds or response from the switch perfectly matches your experience. Will update once the workshop checks the car upholstery access points and inspects those connectors. Really helpful to know I should request regular checks of these connections during future services to prevent another massage setting failure. Thanks for helping narrow down the likely cause, saved me some diagnostic time and worry about potentially larger issues.
