i20 auto lights wipers issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai i20 diesel is experiencing issues with its auto lights and wipers, including error messages, non-functional auto wiping, and lights turning on by themselves. The problem is exacerbated by rain or humidity. The likely cause is bubbles forming under the gel pad of the rain-light sensor on the windshield, which can be resolved by having the sensor checked and possibly replaced at a workshop.

Good question! It seems worse when it's raining or very humid. Is this similar to your issue? What was it in the end?

Yes, exactly! It turned out to be bubbles forming under the gel pad of the rain-light sensor on the windshield. Moisture messes it up. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. My bill was around 62€.

Thanks a lot for the tip, that's super helpful! I'll book it in for a check. Turns out it was exactly as you said, the sensor! 62€ down, but at least it is working again!

Hey, I have an i20 too and this sounds familiar. It's like the car's brain is getting scrambled signals! Does it happen all the time, or just in certain weather conditions?
