i20 Engine Running Lean
Summary of the thread
The 2019 Hyundai i20 is experiencing a check engine light, loss of power, and rough engine performance, with OBD2 codes indicating the engine is running lean. Initial checks for vacuum leaks were inconclusive, leading to suspicions about the fuel injectors, EGR valve, or catalytic converter. A faulty fuel injector was identified and replaced at a garage, resolving the issue and restoring the car's performance.

Yes, it's gotten worse over the last couple of weeks. The reduced power is really noticeable now. If it is the fuel injectors, is there any way to confirm which one is faulty without ripping everything apart? Did you end up replacing all of yours, or just the dodgy one?

I didn't mess around trying to diagnose it myself. I took it straight to a workshop. Seriously, save yourself the headache and get them to run a proper diagnostic. They'll be able to tell you for sure if it's the injectors, and which one is the problem. It could be something else entirely. Mine was injectors.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage and you were spot on – faulty injector! I got it replaced, along with a service, for 515€. Runs like a dream now.

That sounds rough! I had a similar problem with my i20 a while back. Check engine light and all. You say 'running lean'? Sounds like fuel injectors to me. Has it been getting worse?
