i30 stuck in transport mode
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai i30 was experiencing a problem where it was stuck in transport mode, leading to a general electrical malfunction and an inoperable navigation system. The suspected cause was a software glitch that made the vehicle behave as if it were new. The solution involved visiting a workshop for a software reconfiguration, which resolved the issue and was covered under warranty.

The key fob seems to work fine, as the car locks and unlocks. I do not recall seeing an immobilizer light. Where is it located, and what is it supposed to do?

Okay, if the key fob works, that rules out one possibility. The immobilizer light is usually on the instrument cluster; it's a security feature to prevent theft. But honestly, the 'transport mode' thing sounds like a deeper configuration issue. I’d say take it to a workshop; they'll probably need to run a software reconfiguration.

You were right. I visited the workshop, and the issue was indeed a software glitch related to the transport mode. They performed a software reconfiguration, and everything is now working perfectly. Thankfully, it was covered under warranty, so the repair cost was 0€.

Sounds frustrating! I had a comparable experience with my old Peugeot 308. Different symptoms, but the underlying cause was a weird software glitch that locked down certain vehicle functions. Does the key fob work correctly? Also, is the immobilizer light behaving normally?
