Ibiza Radio Static Nightmare

I'm having a nightmare with the radio in my 2006 Seat Ibiza diesel. I get an error message on the screen, and the audio system is completely dead. The error memory also stores the issue. My mechanic thinks it might be a defective antenna. Could that be it? It's like trying to listen to music through a wall of static!

I had something similar with my Ibiza. Kept getting a 'no signal' message and awful static noise. Does your radio cut out completely, or is it just really bad? It was super annoying!

Yeah, it's pretty much dead. The infotainment system throws up an error, and there's nothing but static. Vehicle electronics are going crazy. Did replacing the whole antenna fix it for you, or was it something else, like the antenna booster?

Sounds like exactly what happened to me. For me, it ended up being the antenna itself. Could be the antenna ground too I guess, but the static noise and the error message points to the antenna. Replacing it sorted everything out. To be honest, I'd just take it to a workshop; messing with vehicle electronics can be a pain, like finding a needle in a haystack.

I got it sorted. The workshop confirmed it was the antenna. A new antenna fixed it, and all the error codes are gone. The final bill was 255€.
