Idea Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fiat Idea diesel experienced a complete failure of the multifunction steering wheel, with error memory indicating a fault. The suspected cause was a cable issue within the steering wheel. Another individual with a similar problem confirmed it was due to a faulty connection inside the steering column, which was resolved by a workshop. The original issue was ultimately fixed by addressing a defective cable connection, costing 95€.

It's a complete failure – none of the buttons work at all. Did you manage to get it sorted, and if so, what was the cause?

Yep, mine was total failure too. Turned out to be a faulty connection inside the steering column. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly.

Thanks for the info! I took it to a local mechanic. Turns out you were right, a defective cable connection in the steering wheel. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had something similar happen in my Idea. The buttons on the steering wheel wouldn't respond. Was it a complete failure, or just some buttons?
