Ikon Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure

My 2003 Ford Ikon diesel with 135k is having issues with the multifunction steering wheel. It's not responding. Diagnostics show an error in the memory related to steering wheel controls. Has anyone seen anything similar?

I had a similar issue with my Ikon. Have you checked the cable connections within the steering wheel itself? A faulty connection there could cause that. Were there any specific error codes?

When you say cable connections within the steering wheel, are we talking about the ones going to the control module, or something else? I'm trying to avoid ripping everything apart if I can narrow it down first.

Yes, I'm referring to the wiring harness and connector that connects the steering wheel controls to the steering column and ultimately to the control module. Given the age of the vehicle, it's plausible that the cable connection in the steering wheel is defective. Honestly, it might be best to have a workshop check the vehicle diagnostics; that's what I did.

Okay, appreciate the advice. Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. They think it's a dodgy cable connection in the steering wheel, charging me 95€ to sort it. Thanks again!
