Ikon System Readiness Error
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Ford Ikon diesel displayed a "system readiness check incomplete" error after an OBD2 diagnostic scan. This issue was linked to the readiness flags not being fully reset by the initial OBD2 reader. The solution involved having a workshop properly reset the readiness monitors, resolving the error without any cost.

How long is 'a while', and how hard should I drive it? Should I be giving it the beans on the highway, or is it more of a Sunday afternoon cruise?

I didn't thrash it. But a good mix of speeds and engine loads. Honestly, though, it didn't clear for me. Ended up at the workshop. They said something about needing to 'reset' the readiness monitors properly. Might be worth a shot.

Took your advice and got it sorted – turns out the OBD2 reader I used initially hadn't fully reset the readiness flags after the diagnostic check. The workshop reset them, and the error vanished. No cost! Thanks a bunch; I was starting to think I was in for a costly repair!

I had a similar problem with my Ikon. Same 'system readiness' message after an OBD2 scan. Did you try driving it for a while? Sometimes those readiness checks need a full drive cycle to complete after the codes are cleared.
