Impala engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Chevrolet Impala was experiencing engine stalling, a check engine light, and reduced power, particularly during acceleration. The issue arose after a fuel filter change, leading to concerns about the fuel pressure regulator. A suggestion was made to check the fuel pressure sensor, but ultimately, a mechanic identified and replaced a defective fuel pressure regulator, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the fuel pressure sensor located, and is it something I can check myself without special tools?

It's usually on the fuel rail. While you might be able to visually inspect it, I would recommend taking it to a trusted workshop to have the fuel pressure properly tested. It could be a faulty regulator as well, as you mentioned.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out the fuel pressure regulator was indeed defective. They replaced it for 45€, and the car is running smoothly again.

I had a similar issue with my Impala. Have you checked the fuel pressure sensor? Maybe it's giving incorrect readings after you replaced the fuel filter.
