Thanks for sharing your experience! My FX has 67643 KM on it, and yeah, those symptoms sound pretty similar to what I'm experiencing. I'm really hoping it's just a fluid issue like in your case and not something more serious with the transmission itself. I'll definitely check the fluid level before heading to the shop. Did you notice any burning smell before getting yours fixed?

Hey again! Yeah, I remember my G35 situation well. Actually, now that you mention the burning smell yes, I did notice a slight burning odor, especially after longer drives. That's another classic sign of low or degraded transmission fluid that I forgot to mention in my first reply. With your mileage being around 67K km, it's definitely in the range where transmission fluid service should be considered if it hasn't been done recently. My G35 had about 78K km when I had my issues, so pretty similar situation. Quick tip from my experience when you check the fluid level, make sure the engine is warmed up and running, with the car on level ground. I made the mistake of checking it cold at first and got a false reading. The fluid should be reddish if it's brown or has a burnt smell (like you're experiencing), that's definitely a sign it needs changing. The good news is that if it's similar to what I dealt with, it's a relatively straightforward fix. Just don't wait too long I learned that the hard way when I ignored it for a few weeks and the symptoms got worse. Better to get it checked out soon before any permanent damage occurs. Keep me posted on what you find out!

Really appreciate the detailed info, especially about checking the fluid while warm! That's super helpful. I actually just went out to check the fluid level like you suggested, and you're right it's definitely on the darker side and lower than it should be. That burning smell I mentioned is pretty similar to what you described too. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now that it might just be a fluid issue rather than a complete transmission failure. I've already called my local mechanic and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning. Will definitely have them do a full transmission fluid service while they're at it. Thanks again for sharing your experience it's really helped me understand what might be going on and saved me from panicking about worst-case scenarios. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2004 Infiniti G35 last year. The symptoms were almost identical grinding, slipping, and warning lights. Turned out the transmission fluid was critically low, which was causing all those problems. Took it to my trusted mechanic who diagnosed it, topped up the fluid, and did a transmission fluid flush since the old fluid was pretty dirty. Total cost was around 365€ and it's been running smooth since then. Before I can give more specific advice, how many miles/km on your FX? When was the last transmission service? Is the fluid level visibly low when you check it? I've worked with both Infiniti models, and these symptoms often point to fluid issues, but better to check these details first.
