Infiniti JX Hybrid HVAC Issues: Temperature Sensor Problem?

Thanks for the detailed response! My mileage is at 219,856 KM and had my last service about two months ago. The warning light shows the temperature gauge symbol with an exclamation mark. The blower seems to act up mostly during humid days, and it's really inconsistent sometimes it works fine for hours, then suddenly starts blowing either too hot or too cold air. Interesting that you had a similar issue with your QX60. €155 sounds pretty reasonable I was worried it might be something more serious. Did your mechanic mention how long it took them to fix it? I'm trying to figure out if I need to arrange for a rental while my car's in the shop.

Hey again! Great to hear back from you. Yeah, my QX60 had pretty much the exact same symptoms when mine acted up especially that temperature gauge warning light. I remember it clearly because it was such a headache at the time! About the repair time in my case, it only took about 3-4 hours total. My mechanic was pretty familiar with Infiniti hybrids, so that helped speed things up. I actually waited at the shop while they fixed it, no rental needed. However, I'd suggest calling ahead to schedule an appointment since sometimes they need to order the parts first. Funny you mention the humidity factor that's exactly what made my problem more noticeable too! The inconsistent blowing was driving me nuts, especially on those damp mornings. Since my repair though (I'm at 198,000 KM now), it's been working like a charm. Quick tip from my experience make sure they check all the connections thoroughly, not just the sensor itself. In my case, there was also some minor corrosion on the plug that they cleaned up while they were at it. Might be worth mentioning that to your mechanic. Let me know how it goes when you get it checked out! Always curious to hear if others have the same fix as I did.

Thanks so much for all this helpful info! It's really reassuring to hear that your repair was pretty quick and straightforward. I'll definitely mention the connector corrosion to my mechanic when I take it in. Just called the shop and got an appointment for next Tuesday morning they said they're familiar with these Infiniti issues and should have the parts in stock. I'm actually relieved now knowing it's probably not some major system failure. The humidity connection makes total sense too we've had such a wet season lately, which probably explains why it's been acting up more than usual. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I'll try to remember to post an update here after it's fixed in case anyone else runs into the same problem!

Hey there! I can relate had some similar issues with my 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (pretty much the successor to your JX). I've got some experience working with cars, but I usually leave the complex stuff to the pros. Last winter, I faced almost identical symptoms. Turned out it was a faulty connection in the outdoor temp sensor wiring. Took it to my trusted mechanic, and they diagnosed a damaged cable and plug connection. The fix cost me around €155, and everything's been working perfectly since. Just to help better what warning light exactly are you seeing on the dash? And have you noticed any pattern when the blower acts up (like during certain weather conditions)? Also, might be worth checking out the QX model too they often share similar components, so solutions might be transferable.
